Background/Inspiration
"The Words We Cannot Speak" is meant to be dedicated to every musician who has every struggled with mental health, self-image, performance anxiety, or anything of the like. It is inspired by my own struggles as a composer, performer, and conductor, as well as by the many amazing musicians I have met throughout my lifetime. The purpose of this work is two-fold: First, it is a chance for us as musicians to use music to release the feelings we constantly suppress through music. Secondly, it is an opportunity to allow the audience to gain a better understanding of what it takes to be in our profession.

Mental health does not discriminate against age, gender, nationality, or values. It affects all of us.
