According to the Oxford Dictionary, the word abyss means "a deep or seemingly bottomless chasm."  In Journey Into the Abyss, the listener is taken on a voyage through dark and murky waters as the first motif begins to develop.  Towards the middle, there seems to be a glimmer of hope, a respite of sorts for our travelers, before returning on their JOURNEY INTO THE ABYSS!
