A lesson of life beyond the baton and manuscript paper.
Yesterday was meant to be a day of score study and rehearsal preparation, but my sons had other plans for us. We spent the day snuggling and making it a family day rather than me going up to my office to work. It was perfect; a wonderful reminder to maintain all of the aspects of one's identity and self: personal life, home/family life, and professional life. This constantly morphing triangle can be like taming a wild animal at times, but once you are able to acknowledge these three important components, balance can be found.
Stay present in the present.
