Yesterday, I wanted to prioritize composing and going to the gym (which had limited hours since it was Independence Day). Sometimes life has a funny way of obliterating your intentions for the day to remind you of what’s most important. Life showed me that my focus needed to be on family. So we played, gardened, splashed around in a kiddy pool, and watched a movie. There was no composing. There was no gym. It was perfect.
However, the deadlines for the upcoming competitions that I am interested in entering aren’t going to change because I want to have a family day. I’ll just have to work harder and more efficiently to make it happen.
