Yesterday, I spent 9.5 hours working on Pacem. I'm starting to develop a nice workflow moving from composing to engraving and then onto final editing. I was able to engrave and format the score and parts before submitting everything to my first Call for Scores. If Pacem is accepted, the ensemble associated with the contest would have the exclusive rights to the premiere, among many other wonderful opportunities. This is a huge leap of faith for me, as I've never entered any sort of contest or competition for music composition before- the closest I've ever come to that is submitting works to publishers. Fingers crossed for some good news in May!
