Chasing the Sunrise
Difficulty: Medium Easy
Duration: approx. 3:34

Program Notes
Sunrises are one of the most beautiful creations that nature provides. A sea of colors, hue, and warm pallets; a symbol of rebirth; a sign of hope; a radiance of warmth that slowly builds. Chasing the Sunrise takes the listener on a journey of watching the sunrise along the beach. As the composition begins, only a few voices are present, but as it unfolds, more colors, timbres, and textures add to the complex aura of the sunrise. Once the sun has completely risen, we can feel the warmth, happiness, and hope throughout the ensemble. Much like the tetralogy of the sun, the piece concludes similarly to the way it began, with only a few voices.
From the Publisher:
"Masterfully crafted with young ensembles in mind, Chasing the Sunrise evokes the hope, radiance, and warmth of a beautiful sunrise along the beach. Its delicate textures blend mallet percussion with exciting brass motifs to build grandiose gestures, with individual parts that aren't afraid to challenge and energize any ensemble!"
